Masking by painting
when I did this made a fill layer and than added and black mask to it. Painted where I wanted and then I moved it in the folder.
With the masking by geometry this is SO nice and EASY! This will defiantly help me in the future. Like I can pick certain parts of the mesh to paint using this.
The way to get to the bit mask is different in the version that we have.
'And I think that we don't even have the smart mask future or at least I cant find it.

you can only paint on the texture set you are on
The layers work like photoshop layers. you can go back and change to opacity and you can add effects to them as well.

I finally understand why doing an ID map is so freaking useful. When I was modeling I didn't fully understand why it was so important.

This is where I used painting a black mask and I also used the UV selection to get the effect that I wanted.
Ummmmm so I created the smart material from the head and added it to the legs... something really went wrong...

So in this version of painter we don't have the stamps for normal maps...
